About the Scholarship

The Mastercard Foundation Scholars at Earth University receive a comprehensive sponsorship package, covering tuition, accommodation, living expenses, books, stationery, a laptop, and all other materials necessary for their studies. Additionally, Scholars benefit from leadership and entrepreneurial training, psycho-social support, mentorship, and career counseling.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must:

1. Be a resident and a graduating high school student in Sub-Saharan Africa or Latin America.
2. Demonstrate financial need, meeting the economic criteria of the lowest two quintiles in their country.
3. Show strong academic performance within their educational system.
4. Exhibit leadership potential and involvement in extracurricular activities.
5. Express a strong desire to return to their home region and contribute to socioeconomic development.
6. Meet English proficiency requirements (based on country).
7. Have graduated from a recognized secondary school or completed the required academic qualifications.

The Mastercard Foundation Scholarship at Earth University supports full-time undergraduate programs with a focus on sustainable development, including:

Scholarship Benefits

Scholarship Categories

Full Scholarships:

These scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate high academic performance during the admissions process and show financial need. Out of over 1,000 applications annually, approximately 50 full scholarships are awarded.

Partial Scholarships:

Partial scholarships cover a percentage of costs, with the remaining balance to be covered by the student’s family. The amount of aid is determined after a financial aid evaluation.
